(1) 按數量計算或按種類區分的資料
quantitative data 定量資料/計量資料/量化資料/屬量資料
numerical data 數值資料
e.g. height, weight

qualitative data 定性資料/質性資料/屬性資料
categorical data 分類資料/類別資料
e.g. eye color, blood type

(2) 同一時間的不同資料或不同時間的相似資料
cross-sectional data 橫斷面資料
e.g. university rankings 2016:
